Hell or High Water (The Deep Six) {Book Review}

Title: Hell or High Water {A Deep Six Novel}

Author: Julie Ann Walker

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Book Description

A brand new romantic suspense series from the author of theNew York Times bestselling Black Knights, Inc. series, THE DEEP SIX features six former SEALS on super-secret black ops, and feisty heroines who know how to handle both lethal weapons and alpha men.
Only two things could make former Navy SEAL Leo Anderson return to the world of weapons and warfare. First, a capsule of chemical weapons lost on the ocean floor, and second, a plea for assistance from the one woman he can't seem to forget-CIA Agent Olivia Mortier.
Now, working together to race against the clock and a deadly terrorist faction, Leo and Olivia must find the missing capsule, all the while battling the intense desire burning between them. If they can survive, can their growing attraction become more than just a momentary flare?

My Review:
     This is a brand new series from author Julie Ann Walker in which we follow Leo and his team. If you have read the Black Knights series than you'll be somewhat familiar with Leo and his team from a couple of those books. I was really happy to hear that Leo was getting his own book. He came off as the most interesting of them all.

     I liked Leo right away. You could tell he still carried the burden of what happened to one of his teammates on his shoulders. But you could tell him and the rest of the team were trying to get on with their lives as best as they could.

    I have mixed feelings about Olivia.  At first I couldn't really connect with her character. There were moments where she seemed career driven. But at other times she didn't seem to like her job at all. It's wasn't until she started opening up that I really started to like her.

    I enjoyed reading this book, though it did start a little slow. But that was to get us introduced to the characters and the book. It definitely started to pick up after Leo and his team go out to help Olivia find some missing weapons. The suspense and action picked up. I really liked the secondary characters in this book also.

     I'll give this book 4 out of 5 stars and can't wait for the next one in this series!!!!!
