Fallen Ink {Book Review}

Title: Fallen Ink
Series: Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs Book 1
Author: Carrie Ann Ryan
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Description:

The Montgomery Ink series continues with a spin-off in Colorado Springs, where a familiar Montgomery finds her place in a new tattoo shop, and in the arms of her best friend.

Adrienne Montgomery is finally living her dreams. She’s opened a tattoo shop with her brother, Shep, and two of her cousins from Denver and she’s ready to take the city by storm with her art—as long as she can handle the pressure. When her new neighbors decide her shop isn’t a great fit for the community, however, she’ll have to lean on the one person she didn’t expect to fall for along the way…her best friend.

Mace Knight takes pride in two things: his art and his daughter. He knows he’s taking a risk by starting over in a new shop with the Montgomerys, but the stakes are even higher when he finds himself wanting Adrienne more than he thought possible.

The two fall fast and hard but they know the rules; they can’t risk their friendship, no matter how hot it is between the sheets and how many people try to stand in their way.

My Review:

So first I want to say when I heard this book was coming I had been super excited about a spin-off to one of my favorite series. I couldn't wait to read about these particular Montgomery cousins.

Eh, gosh I so want to say that I absolutely loved and adored Adrienne and Mace. But the honest truth is, I really didn't love them to death. I thought they were just alright. I found that they flipped and flopped back and forth way to much for my liking. I found myself yelling at the book at times, "Oh just get over yourself's already."

As I just mentioned above I had been so excited for this new series. The read was just alright to me though. I think another part of that was me though, I think for some reason I was a bit confused. For some reason I had thought that the next book Mrs. Ryan was coming out with was the next book in her other series Whiskey and Lies. So for some reason I thought that this was going to be Fox's book, so I was a bit surprised when I started reading and quickly realized that this was Adrienne and Mace's book. I just don't really think my heart was into this book as much as it should have been.

I may try and go back and read it once again and see if my feelings about it change.

I'm giving this book 3.5 Stars out of 5 and here's to hoping the next ones better!!!
