A Cruel Love {Book Review}

Title: A Cruel Love
Series: Cavalieri Della Morte Series
Author: S.M. Soto
Genre: Romantic Suspense

Book Description:

As a hitman for hire, Percivale is no stranger to violence.

From the moment he saw Blossom Jaymes through the window of her bakery, he knew he was in too deep. Not only was she as sweet as her perfectly crafted treats, but she was a soft-spoken, golden-haired angel that shone like a bright beacon in his dark world. And Percivale didn’t deal in angels. He dealt in death and crime. The even bigger issue? Percivale’s next hit is on said sweet little baker who doesn’t seem to realize how much danger lurks around her with each passing day.

If he doesn’t get the job done, who will?

When Percivale has to decide what’s more important to him—the life of a woman who may very well be innocent or getting his revenge on the men who murdered his family—the lines become blurred. Morals are twisted and a deathly chase ensues that can only result in one thing—Blossom buried six feet under.

Or can it?

Can Percivale let his lust for revenge go in order to save Blossom from the bounty on her head, or will the power she unknowingly holds over him be what gets her killed?

My Review:

This is the sixth book in the Cavalieri Della Morte multi book/multi author series. This is also the first time I have read anything by Author S.M. Soto. This is why I have been enjoying this series so much, because it gives me the chance to read some new to me authors, and read other author's that I'm familiar with. Also with how the last book was in this series I couldn't wait to read this book.

This is the first time we actually get to meet Percivale. I believe he made an appearence in Martyris, but his name was never really mentioned (I know in that book all of the men of the Cavalieri were there). Also in a few of the books his name has been mentioned. But this is really the first time we have gotten to see him. Percivale is a man who is no stranger to the underworld mob world. Though he didn't realize it when he was younger, his family was part of the mob world. Now he's out for revenge for the deaths of his brothers and father. Now that he's out for revenge he's also tasked with a job to take care of a girl who is sticking her nose in places she shouldn't. But he finds himself being drawn to Blossom and not being able to take her out.

Oh man at first I thought that Blossom was just this nieve young girl who got herself mixed in something she shouldn't have. But as time goes by with her being Perci's captive, she becomes a bit snarky and braver the more time ticks by. By the end of the book I really enjoyed her.

I did really enjoy this book and thought it was a nice addition to the Cavalieri series. There was definitely plenty of action in this book. And you can't forget about the smexiness between Perci and Blossom.

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!
