Title: I'd Rather Not
Series: KPD Motorcycle Patrol Book 3
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Book Description:
Oakley Spurlock is dying.
She only has weeks to live thanks to a freak infection that totally and completely destroyed her kidneys.
Despite her family’s desperation, not a single one of them is a match.
In a last-ditch attempt, Oakley’s father takes to social media to beg for help to save his daughter’s life.
***
Pace Vineyard is lost. So lost, in fact, that he’s not sure he wants to be found.
But then a beautiful woman’s face is splashed across social media, and Pace finds a spark in his soul for the first time since a bomb went off beside him.
He’s already missing two legs. What’s one more kidney?
At least, that’s what he tells himself.
What he doesn’t expect is to give his heart to the woman, too. Or for the woman to run away with it and force him to follow.
My Review:
So this is the third book in Mrs. Vale's KPD Motorcycle Patrol series. I'm going, to be honest here and say that although I do have the first two books on my kindle I actually Have Not finished reading them. I'm about halfway through them. But I'm going to say that they really don't need to be read in order to get the full effect of the series and can be read as standalone's. In this book, we get Oakley and Pace, and I have kinda been waiting for Oakley's book since I heard she was getting one.
Ahhh, Oakley Spurlock.... If you don't know who she is than I'll tell ya, she's Trance and Viddy's daughter. Oakley's a young woman who hasn't been having very good luck in recent year's thanks in part to catching a bug from her father that has made her body start shutting down on her. I liked Oakley, I really did, I thought she was sweet, kind, and funny.
I really enjoyed Pace. I'm not really sure what to say here about him. I mean in a way he's kind of a mystery throughout the book. But in another way, he's not. I kinda feel like we got pieces of him, but at the same time, we got the whole thing.
Here's the thing with this book although I did really enjoy this book at times I felt like there were pieces missing. At times I felt like Oakley and Pace were missing from this story. And although I loved seeing Trance and Viddy in this book, cause lets just be honest Viddy was hilarious in this book. But anyway's I almost forgot that this book was about Oakley and Pace when Trance and Viddy were in the book and felt like it was another Viddy and Trance book.
Anyways I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!
