She wasn't supposed to mean anything.
She wasn't supposed to Make a mark.
She did.
Lyric. The mystery of her spoke to the very heart of me and though I knew the risk of going home with her, I did anyways.
I thought I could keep my head, ignore the ways I wanted her, needed her.
I couldn’t.
Lyric
One night.
That's all I gave the women I brought home.
It was easy that way. Simple.
I couldn’t do more than that.
Hell, the one time I had, it had all gone shit. Utter and complete insanity.
Our night together was supposed to be just that. A night of sex between two single, unattached women.
Until, it wasn’t. Soon after meeting sweet, innocent Harley I realized one thing.
She was much more than a passing interest.
She quickly became... everything.
“Turn around.” Her voice was tense and solemn, like a statue incapable of breaking. It brooked no argument and still, I teased her, wanting to see if she’d loosen the reins.
“You’re so bossy.”
“That’s because I’m topping you, Blue Eyes. Now let me see you.”
Topping me?
Was that what this was- what we were doing here? She was taking control? Or was it that she’d had it all along and I was just along for the ride...
Her hands were holding my hips with a firm grip and though I knew she could have made the choice for me and moved me as she saw fit she wouldn’t.
I saw it in her eyes as she lured me in earlier, when we’d been surrounded by so many distractions- lights, music, people surrounding us as they danced the night away. But when she looked at me, I saw her desire to take me home, to wreck me for all others, to make me feel something more. Maybe she’d seen that need inside of me, somehow. Maybe she was just out on the prowl and tonight of all nights, she’d set her sights on me.
Either way, here we were and I had a choice to make.
I could cower to that small niggle of fear inside of me that warned me of how easily I’d been hurt in the past; that hesitant part of me that was afraid of what I’d feel after the night was over and she’d surely be long gone from my reach.
Or, I could just throw caution to the wind, as they say and let myself and all my fears go for one night. Tonight.
It was all we had. And with that realization, I spun towards her and let my worries fall away for the night.
